Hyderabad: Vi signed a 25-year agreement with ACES India Private Limited to provide 4G and 5G services across Mumbai Metro Aqua Line-3. ACES India announced the agreement in Mumbai on September 18, 2026. The deal brought Vi, or Vodafone Idea, into its neutral digital infrastructure ecosystem for the underground metro corridor.
The agreement will expand Mumbai Metro connectivity through the multi-operator platform across Aqua Line-3. Under the deployment, Vi customers will get mobile services across stations, concourses, platforms and underground tunnels. Moreover, the infrastructure will support voice, data and other digital services during metro journeys.
Aqua Line-3 spans about 33.5 km and has 27 stations between Aarey JVLR and Cuffe Parade. It connects major commercial, residential and transportation hubs across Mumbai. According to ACES India, the infrastructure can ultimately serve more than 625 million passengers annually.
Mumbai Metro connectivity covers underground network
The partnership will allow Vi users to access communication, entertainment and productivity applications while travelling on Aqua Line-3. Moreover, ACES India said the agreement further strengthened its multi-operator Mumbai Metro connectivity platform. The company is developing shared digital infrastructure for telecom operators across the underground network.
Meanwhile, Vi is seeking to expand its network across high-density urban locations. The company aims to provide 4G and 5G services where customers require continuous connectivity.
In addition, the partnership supports Vi’s efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure for the changing needs of consumers and businesses. ACES Group CEO Dr Akram Aburas welcomed Vi to the digital infrastructure across Aqua Line-3.
“We are pleased to welcome Vi onto our digital infrastructure across Mumbai Metro Aqua Line-3,” Aburas said. He described the 25-year agreement as another milestone in developing a multi-operator connectivity ecosystem.
“Our neutral-host infrastructure is designed to enable operators to deliver seamless 4G and 5G services,” he said. He added that the infrastructure would address the growing digital requirements of millions of commuters.
Mumbai Metro connectivity platform supports operators
ACES India Managing Director Mohammed N. Mazher said Vi’s addition further strengthened the connectivity ecosystem across Aqua Line-3. He said the company focused on providing a robust, scalable and future-ready platform for telecom operators.
In particular, the platform will help operators provide reliable services in complex underground environments. Moreover, ACES India said the system would support the changing connectivity requirements of Mumbai commuters.
Vi Chief Technology Officer Jagbir Singh said strong connectivity infrastructure was becoming increasingly important across public transit networks.
“As India’s digital consumption continues to grow, robust connectivity infrastructure is becoming increasingly important in public transit networks,” Singh said.
He said the ACES India partnership reflected Vi’s commitment to customer connectivity above and below ground. In addition, the deployment would support seamless 4G and 5G services across the major urban infrastructure project, he said.

The agreement also strengthened ACES India’s position as a neutral digital infrastructure provider. Its shared and scalable platform allows multiple telecom operators to provide advanced mobile services across high-density public infrastructure.
With Vi joining the network, ACES India will continue expanding its multi-operator digital ecosystem across Aqua Line-3. Consequently, the infrastructure will help address growing demand for high-speed and uninterrupted mobile services.
The network covers one of Mumbai’s critical urban transportation corridors. Furthermore, the latest 25-year agreement adds another telecom operator to the shared infrastructure. It also broadens the Mumbai Metro connectivity ecosystem across Aqua Line-3.
