Hyderabad: The Telangana government directed officials to complete elaborate arrangements for Telangana Formation Day celebrations scheduled at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on June 2.
State Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj reviewed the preparations with senior officials at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat. He said the Chief Minister would first visit Gun Park and pay tribute at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial. Later, he would attend the main Telangana Formation Day celebrations at Parade Grounds.
Vikas Raj asked officials to complete all preparations at Parade Grounds and Gun Park. He also told every department to appoint a nodal officer and coordinate with other departments for smooth conduct of the programme.
Meanwhile, police officials will provide security along the routes used by dignitaries. They will also prepare a traffic route map and manage vehicle movement near Parade Grounds. In addition, Vikas Raj asked officials to ensure proper parking facilities and avoid traffic congestion during the celebrations.
Telangana Formation Day rehearsals from May 25
The Roads and Buildings Department will install waterproof shamianas and barricades at the venue. Similarly, civic officials will maintain sanitation around the venue and provide drinking water facilities for visitors.
Vikas Raj directed the cultural department to organise performances by artists to create a festive atmosphere during the Telangana Formation Day celebrations. He also instructed power department officials to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and keep generators ready at the venue.
Further, officials will decorate major locations in Hyderabad with illumination. These locations include the Assembly, State Secretariat, Charminar, Praja Bhavan and other government offices.
The Information and Public Relations Department will arrange live telecast of the celebrations for wider publicity. Meanwhile, Vikas Raj instructed all departments to work together and conduct joint rehearsals at Parade Grounds from May 25.
Special Chief Secretaries Naveen Mittal and Shikha Goel attended the meeting. Along with them, Secretary Raghunandan Rao, DGP Mahesh Bhagwat, ADG Intelligence Vijay Kumar, TG Genco CMD Harish, Special Commissioner Mukunda Reddy, Water Board MD Ashok Reddy and senior officials from various departments also participated.
