CM Revanth Reddy to review secretaries’ performance every quarter

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday launched a new system to evaluate the performance of departmental secretaries. He stressed that coordination among departments is essential for effective governance. “No department can function in isolation,” he said.

Speaking at a meeting at the state Secretariat, the Chief Minister introduced a three-tier performance review system. Under this, the Chief Secretary will review each department’s performance monthly. The Chief Minister himself, Revanth Reddy, will undertake a review of secretaries each quarter, ensuring their performance aligns with state objectives. Secretaries must submit monthly performance reports to the Chief Secretary without fail.

Planning, performance key to ‘Telangana Rising 2047’

Revanth Reddy underscored the need for policy-driven administration. He noted that, over the past two years, the government had implemented clear sectoral policies in energy, irrigation, health, and education. Moreover, he highlighted the “Telangana Rising 2047” vision plan. He said the state is moving forward with structured development, dividing regions into ‘Cure’, ‘Pure’, and ‘Rare’ zones.

According to him, the success of this ambitious plan hinges entirely on cooperation across all departments.

Strict deadlines for staff data and office relocation

The Chief Minister instructed secretaries to submit full data on regular, outsourced, and contract employees by January 26, 2026. He also directed Heads of Departments to ensure that outsourced staff are paid on time and receive EPF and ESI benefits. The verification process must be completed within the same deadline.

Additionally, he ordered that all government offices currently operating from rented premises must shift to government-owned buildings by January 26. This is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to reduce recurring expenditure and improve asset utilisation. Revanth Reddy stressed these changes as part of the secretaries’ larger accountability framework.

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and other senior officials were present at the meeting and witnessed Revanth Reddy reviewing the roles and responsibilities of secretaries.
