Nalgonda organ donation gives six people new life after youth’s death

Hyderabad: The Nalgonda organ donation case came to light after a youth’s organs saved six lives following his death in a road accident, prompting Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar to commend the family’s decision.

The deceased was identified as Bathini Harish, a native of Nalgonda district, who suffered severe injuries in a recent road accident and later died. Despite the loss, his family consented to donate his organs, enabling life-saving transplants for multiple patients.

According to officials, Harish’s kidneys, liver, heart and eyes were donated. As a result, six individuals received a new lease of life through the Nalgonda organ donation, highlighting the impact of timely medical intervention and family consent.

Even as her son lay lifeless before her, Harish’s mother Maheshwari chose to prioritise social responsibility. While coping with the grief, she agreed to donate his organs, turning personal tragedy into an act of public good.
