Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday urged the Centre to speed up the takeover of Hyderabad Metro Phase-I and grant approval for Hyderabad Metro Phase-II. He sent separate letters to Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Manohar Lal Khattar, seeking early action on both proposals.
The Chief Minister said he was following up on the discussions held on June 24 with the two Union Ministers and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He said the meeting focused on the approval of Hyderabad Metro Phase-II and the takeover of the existing Phase-I network.
Revanth Reddy said delays in taking forward the proposals were creating operational uncertainty for Metro Phase-I. He also warned that any further delay in approving the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Metro Phase-II and arranging funds could extend the project timeline and increase its overall cost.
SBI CAPS process key to Hyderabad Metro Phase-II
The Chief Minister requested the Union Ministers to expedite the assignment entrusted to SBI CAPS. He also asked the Centre to finalise and communicate the Terms of Reference to the Telangana government without further delay.
He said early completion of these steps would help implement the decisions taken during the June 24 meeting. According to the Chief Minister, this would enable the Phase-I takeover process to conclude quickly and allow the timely launch of Metro Phase-II.
