Ponguleti directs faster rollout of housing and infrastructure projects

Hyderabad: Telangana Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy directed officials to expedite housing infrastructure projects during a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Saturday.

The Minister instructed officials to accelerate the construction of affordable Low Income Group (LIG) urban housing under the QUAR (Quality Urban Affordable Residences) initiative. He said 500 houses would be built in the first phase in each of 26 Assembly constituencies and directed the Revenue and Housing departments to complete land acquisition and tender processes without delay.

Ponguleti also reviewed the progress of permanent government buildings across the State. These include 107 Tahsildar offices, two Deputy Inspector General (DIG) offices, four District Sub-Registrar offices, and 52 Sub-Registrar offices.

Government buildings part of housing infrastructure projects

The Minister said all new government buildings would follow a uniform design and include modern public amenities. He added that solar-powered parking facilities would be incorporated to promote energy conservation and improve public infrastructure.

Housing Secretary V. P. Gautham, Inspector General of Stamps and Registration Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, and other senior officials attended the review meeting.
