Hyderabad: Actor Vijay Deverakonda and former minister and BRS leader Thanneeru Harish Rao visited the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Centre for Child Heart Care and Research in Kondapaka, Siddipet district, on Saturday, where they interacted with children undergoing treatment for congenital heart diseases.
Addressing a gathering, Vijay Deverakonda praised Harish Rao’s contribution to the establishment of the hospital and recalled that land for the institution was allocated during his tenure as Health Minister. Calling him the “Lion of Siddipet,” the actor said Harish Rao had played a key role in facilitating life-saving heart surgeries for underprivileged children and described his public service as exemplary.
Vijay Deverakonda said he was happy to participate in the special medical camp for children and witness the hospital’s humanitarian work. He added that leaders committed to such public service were rare.

Harish Rao said the hospital performs nearly 6,000 paediatric heart surgeries every year and provides free treatment to children from across the country. He appealed to people to support humanitarian initiatives and said good deeds remain a person’s greatest legacy.
The leaders also interacted with patients and their families during the visit and appreciated the services being provided by the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Centre for Child Heart Care and Research.
