Telangana cabinet decisions on RTC strike, Kaleshwaram probe

Hyderabad: Telangana cabinet decisions covered the RTC strike, Kaleshwaram probe, employee dues, and key infrastructure approvals at a meeting chaired by A. Revanth Reddy.

The cabinet appealed to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation employees to withdraw the strike. Meanwhile, it assured that the government will resolve issues through dialogue. An officials’ committee has already begun consultations under Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.

On the Kaleshwaram issue, the cabinet reviewed the High Court verdict on the Justice P. C. Ghose Commission. The court upheld the commission’s legality but flagged procedural lapses. Accordingly, the government decided to push for expediting a CBI probe into alleged irregularities.

Telangana cabinet decisions include dues clearance and project approvals

The cabinet expressed concern over pending dues of ₹6,200 crore for employees and ₹8,000 crore for retirees. Further, it decided to explore financial options to clear dues. The government aims to settle retired employees’ payments within 100 days. Ministers also indicated willingness to contribute part of their salaries if required.

The cabinet approved nomination-based governing bodies for Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies with expired terms. In addition, it cleared a proposal to develop Gachibowli Stadium under a PPP model. Plans include expanding seating capacity to 50,000 and adding facilities for multiple sports.

The cabinet also approved ₹166.67 crore for land acquisition under the Chinna Kaleshwaram project in Manthani. Moreover, the project is expected to benefit around 45,000 acres across 63 villages.

It further cleared a proposal to set up an Integrated Aqua Park near the Sripada Yellampalli Project in Mancherial district. Therefore, the government will allocate 85.10 acres of irrigation land to the Fisheries Department.
