TGRTC JAC talks begin, ₹10 lakh aid announced for driver family

Hyderabad: TGRTC JAC talks began at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Bhatti Vikramarka, with ministers and officials holding discussions with union leaders.

At the outset, ministers, officials, and JAC leaders observed a two-minute silence. They paid tribute to RTC driver Shankar Goud from Narsampet, who died by suicide.

Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, D. Sridhar Babu, Vivek Venkatswamy, and Adluri Laxman Kumar attended the meeting.

Senior officials, including Chief Secretary Ramkrishna Rao, Special Chief Secretaries Vikas Raj and Dana Kishore, Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, and RTC MD Y. Nagireddy, were present.

TGRTC JAC talks focus on relief and resolution

During the meeting, Ponnam Prabhakar announced ₹10 lakh financial assistance for the family of the deceased driver. He said the government would also provide an Indiramma house and a job to an eligible family member.

Furthermore, he appealed to TGRTC JAC leaders to ensure that the final rites are conducted smoothly. He urged opposition parties to avoid politicising the issue and support the family.

The TGRTC JAC talks continued with discussions aimed at resolving issues raised by RTC employees. Officials and union leaders engaged in dialogue as the strike situation remained under focus.
