Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu directed all government offices across Telangana to use T-Fiber internet services exclusively from September 1. The Minister issued the instruction during a review meeting on T-Fiber at the Secretariat. Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju attended the meeting.
Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Joint Secretary Anudeep Durishetty and T-Fiber Managing Director Venu Prasad also participated. Sridhar Babu asked T-Fiber officials to provide internet connectivity to every government office before the deadline. He also directed departments to complete all required technical arrangements.
T-Fiber internet services to replace private operators
The Minister instructed officials to stop making payments to private internet operators for government offices after September 1. Therefore, departments must shift their existing connections to T-Fiber internet services within the stipulated period.
Sridhar Babu also ordered officials to migrate the Telangana State Wide Area Network, or T-SWAN, to T-Fiber within one month. He asked the departments concerned to coordinate closely and avoid delays during the transition. Moreover, he directed officials to monitor the migration process until its completion.
The government aimed to consolidate official internet connectivity under the State-owned network. The move would also reduce dependence on private service providers.
T-Fiber internet services planned for Future City
Sridhar Babu directed officials to make comprehensive arrangements for full-scale T-Fiber connectivity in the Future City project. He said the proposed urban centre required reliable digital infrastructure from the initial stages of development. Accordingly, officials must integrate internet connectivity into the project’s wider planning.
The Minister also reviewed the State’s flagship Internet to Every Home initiative. He instructed officials to accelerate its implementation across Telangana. The programme aimed to extend internet access to households through the T-Fiber network. Furthermore, the Minister asked officials to address implementation gaps and speed up field-level work.
Sridhar Babu said departments must meet the September 1 deadline for government offices. He also stressed timely completion of the T-SWAN migration and Future City connectivity plan.
