Hyderabad: Tourism, Culture and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said the Telangana government’s decision to ensure Salaries on day one of every month reflected its commitment to employee welfare, financial discipline and good governance.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the minister said the decision was taken under the direction of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He added that the Finance Department’s recent instructions would bring greater financial certainty to lakhs of families across the state.
The initiative aims to ensure uniform salary and remuneration disbursal across all eligible categories of employees and personnel. As a result, beneficiaries would receive payments on the first day of every month.
Salaries on day one to benefit multiple employee categories
Jupally Krishna Rao said the policy covered personnel working in corporations, public sector undertakings, societies, universities, local bodies and grant-in-aid institutions.
In addition, the initiative included contract employees, outsourcing personnel and other eligible categories under the state government’s purview.
The minister said timely salary payments would help employees plan their household finances more effectively. Consequently, they would be able to meet commitments such as loan instalments, educational expenses, rent, utility bills and healthcare costs without disruption.
He said the measure would also support better financial management among employees. Furthermore, it would help them maintain healthy credit records and avoid unnecessary bank charges and penalties.
According to Krishna Rao, employees would gain greater confidence and certainty in handling their financial responsibilities through regular and predictable salary payments.
Salaries on day one expected to strengthen household finances
The minister noted that regular salary disbursal strengthened household financial stability and improved purchasing power. Moreover, he said the initiative would contribute to economic activity at the grassroots level.
Describing the move as a major employee welfare measure, Krishna Rao said it demonstrated the government’s determination to address issues that directly affected the daily lives of employees and their families.
He said the decision highlighted the government’s focus on improving financial security for workers across different sectors and institutions.
Krishna Rao also thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for institutionalising a mechanism to ensure Salaries on day one every month for all eligible categories covered under the state government framework.
