Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy ordered officials to take strict action against agencies responsible for salary delays affecting contract and outsourcing employees. He said agencies must face action if they fail to pay wages on time despite the government releasing funds.
The Chief Minister issued the directions during a review meeting on Tuesday to examine issues affecting contract and outsourcing employees. He instructed officials to ensure employees receive their salaries on the first day of every month through a streamlined digital system.
He also announced the formation of an official committee to strengthen digital governance in Telangana. The committee will submit its recommendations within 100 days.
However, Revanth Reddy sought a detailed review of the State’s digital governance framework. He directed officials to prepare a comprehensive plan and draft the required legislation to support the initiative.
Digital governance to support salary delays action
The Chief Minister said the administration should move towards full-scale digitisation to improve governance. He added that the government aims to deliver better public services and transfer welfare benefits directly to eligible beneficiaries through digital systems.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy reviewed the digitisation of records relating to contract, outsourcing and regular government employees. He instructed officials to digitise employee data, including salary details and bank account information, across all departments.
Furthermore, he said complete digital records would help ensure timely salary payments and improve administrative efficiency. Officials were asked to complete the exercise without delay.
