Hyderabad: TGSRTC outsourcing recruitment has come under criticism after temporary drivers were hired across Telangana while the recruitment process for regular driver posts remained incomplete. Although TGSRTC issued a notification in September last year to fill regular driver vacancies, the selection process has so far progressed only up to the driving test stage.
According to the available information, the corporation has initiated region-wise recruitment of temporary drivers through outsourcing agencies following government instructions. In the Hyderabad region alone, Omullen Management Solutions Private Limited has reportedly been assigned the task of recruiting around 200 drivers. Similar outsourcing appointments are said to be underway in other regions through private agencies.
Candidates applying for the outsourcing posts must possess an Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank account, driver batch number, heavy vehicle driving licence with at least 18 months of experience, an RTA clearance letter, a caste certificate, and meet the prescribed age and height criteria of 21 to 60 years and a minimum height of 160 cm.
TGSRTC outsourcing recruitment offers higher starting pay
The outsourcing notification stated that selected drivers would receive a starting monthly salary of ₹21,640, along with a daily on-duty allowance of ₹400 and Employees’ Provident Fund (PF) benefits. By comparison, the notification issued for regular driver recruitment fixed the starting salary at ₹20,960 per month.
The outsourcing agencies have also assured candidates that salaries will be credited on the first day of every month. Meanwhile, unemployed applicants have expressed dissatisfaction, alleging that the recruitment of outsourced drivers is progressing faster than the recruitment of regular employees.
TGSRTC issued a notification on September 17 last year to recruit 1,000 driver posts and 743 labourer posts, attracting thousands of applications. Nearly a year later, the recruitment process has not been completed. Applicants have urged the state government and TGSRTC management to expedite the selection process and release the final list of selected candidates at the earliest.
