Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said Telangana is emerging as a leader in global AI standards by combining technology with environmental protection and social responsibility. He said the State is attracting investments while ensuring they create long-term benefits for people and natural resources.
Bhatti Vikramarka made the remarks on Tuesday while inaugurating the two-day Green Growth Economic Summit – The Hyderabad Collective at HICC. Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu joined him at the inaugural session organised by The Meridian Collective.
He said artificial intelligence depends not only on cloud computing and servers but also on electricity, water, land and skilled human resources. Therefore, governments must encourage responsible development instead of pursuing growth at any cost.
Furthermore, the Deputy Chief Minister said Telangana is promoting renewable energy and efficient resource management to build a sustainable AI ecosystem. He added that the government welcomes investments that support both economic growth and environmental protection.
Telangana’s global AI standards focus responsible growth
Bhatti Vikramarka said industries should strengthen local skills, adopt clean energy and use recycled water instead of placing pressure on natural resources. He added that these principles reflect the government’s values rather than simple engineering efficiency.
Meanwhile, he said Telangana has introduced the concept of “People’s Credit” alongside global discussions on carbon credits. The initiative aims to ensure AI investments generate local jobs and improve skills among rural youth instead of only expanding data centres.
He also stressed that companies must invest with transparency and respect for local communities. In addition, they should reduce emissions while helping build intellectual capital in the regions where they operate.
Bhatti Vikramarka said technology should never compete with agriculture or the water needs of ordinary people. He added that Telangana would support AI systems that follow the most responsible water management practices.
He further said artificial intelligence should overcome language barriers and create employment opportunities for rural youth from Mahabubabad to Adilabad. Concluding his address, he said Telangana is not merely a data centre hub but a model for responsible AI development that could help Hyderabad emerge as a global benchmark for global AI standards.
