Hyderabad: Tajikistan Ambassador to India Bobokalonzoda Lukmon proposed a Telangana Archives partnership with the State government to translate, transliterate and publish rare manuscripts under the India–Tajikistan cultural exchange programme.
The Ambassador visited the Telangana State Archives on Wednesday and discussed opportunities to strengthen cultural and academic cooperation through the preservation and publication of historical manuscripts.
Telangana Archives partnership focuses on rare manuscripts
Bobokalonzoda Lukmon praised India’s rich knowledge heritage during the visit. He also expressed interest in making the Archives’ rare manuscripts available in the Tajik language.
Telangana State Archives Director Dr. Zareena Parveen showcased a collection of rare Persian manuscripts. Meanwhile, officials explained the institution’s ongoing digitisation programme to preserve valuable historical records.
Prof. Akhtar Ali of the Department of Geography, Osmania University, accompanied the Ambassador during the visit.
Assistant Director M.A. Raqeeb welcomed the Ambassador and briefed him on the progress of the Telangana State Archives digitisation project. In addition, Assistant Directors Sandhya Rani and G. Srikanth attended the programme.
The proposed Telangana Archives partnership aims to promote cultural cooperation while improving access to rare historical manuscripts through translation, transliteration and publication.
