CM Revanth targets KCR over Miyapur land, cites Supreme Court victory

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy accused former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his associates of attempting to take over nearly 550 acres of government land in Miyapur. He said the Telangana government had secured a favourable Supreme Court verdict in the Miyapur land case. Revanth estimated the land’s value at around Rs 50,000 crore.

Speaking to the media during his Delhi visit, Revanth alleged that the previous BRS government had altered revenue records to transfer the land to its associates and some private individuals. He criticised the previous administration for failing to defend government land effectively in court.

Revanth said he had raised the issue while in the opposition. After coming to power, his government presented strong arguments before the Supreme Court and secured a favourable ruling. Following the verdict, he directed officials to take immediate possession of the land.

The Chief Minister said the government could sell the land if necessary. It would use the proceeds for the benefit of poor people and to strengthen the state’s education system.

Miyapur land case linked to wider land recovery drive

Revanth also accused BRS working president K T Rama Rao of attempting to transfer 143 acres of government land in Manchirevula to private parties. He said the government fought the matter in court and recovered the land. Of this, 50 acres had been allocated to the Young India Police School.

The Chief Minister said the government was also presenting strong arguments in court over the IMG land dispute. He alleged that encroachers had taken control of those lands.

He further alleged that some people tried to obstruct an official survey of 388 acres in Survey No. 325, covering the Sherri Venkatapur and Erravalli village areas. Officials faced resistance when they went to conduct the survey, he said.

The survey was now under way in Erravalli. Revanth said the government was pursuing different measures to recover the 388 acres.

The Chief Minister claimed that his government had protected public land worth around Rs 1.5 lakh crore from what he described as the Kalvakuntla group. He urged KCR to tell his associates to stop encroaching on government land.

Revanth said authorities were investigating individual land encroachment cases across Telangana. He added that the public was watching these developments.
