Ponguleti says Telangana sets development benchmark at Formation Day celebrations

Hyderabad: Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said Telangana had emerged as a model for the country across sectors and continued to advance on the path of development during Telangana Formation Day celebrations held at the Police Parade Ground in Hanamkonda.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said martyrs’ sacrifices laid the foundation for Telangana statehood. He added that the state’s formation anniversary should inspire a sense of self-respect and responsibility among citizens.

Ponguleti called upon people to participate actively in Telangana’s progress and contribute to the state’s continued development. He also outlined welfare schemes, development works and public initiatives that the government is implementing.

Warangal MP Dr Kadiyam Kavya, MLC Baswaraju Saraiah, Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy, Vardhannapet MLA K.R. Nagaraju, Police Commissioner Sunpreet Singh, District Collector Chahat Bajpai and other public representatives attended the event.

Telangana Formation Day celebrations honour martyrs and achievements

During the programme, the Minister felicitated families of Telangana martyrs and paid tribute to their sacrifices. He said their contribution to the statehood movement would remain an enduring part of Telangana’s history.

Students presented patriotic and cultural performances that attracted the audience. The programmes showcased Telangana’s traditions, culture and heritage. Students and artists emerged as major attractions of the celebrations.

Various government departments also set up exhibition stalls to showcase development and welfare initiatives. The stalls highlighted programmes from DRDA, MEPMA, the Women and Child Welfare Department, the Health Department, TGSCO, the Housing Department, the Horticulture Department, the Agriculture Department, the Fisheries Department and the Animal Husbandry Department.

Ponguleti visited the stalls and reviewed departmental activities. District officials also inspected the exhibitions and interacted with representatives.

The Minister presented certificates of appreciation to police personnel for outstanding service. He also honoured students who excelled in cultural programmes held as part of the celebrations.
