Hyderabad: Telangana has proposed stronger cooperation with France to expand tourism, cultural exchanges and heritage conservation. Tourism, Culture, Archaeology, Prohibition and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said deeper partnerships would create new opportunities for tourism, investment and economic growth.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with French Consul General Marc Lamy and Deputy Consul Pascal Loreau at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat.
Telangana France tourism partnership proposed
Jupally Krishna Rao highlighted Telangana’s historical, cultural and architectural heritage. He said Hyderabad had emerged as a global city while preserving its rich legacy.
The minister invited the French Government, the French Embassy and tourism stakeholders to promote Hyderabad and other destinations in Telangana among French travellers.
He also proposed expanding cultural exchange programmes and encouraging reciprocal visits by artists, scholars, tourism professionals and cultural delegations.
In addition, the minister suggested creating a joint working group to identify opportunities in heritage conservation, tourism promotion and cultural exchanges.
Telangana France tourism cooperation to expand
The French delegation described tourism as a major driver of economic growth, employment and international engagement. It noted that France receives more than 100 million international visitors every year and highlighted tourism’s role in attracting global investment.
The delegation also referred to the strong India-France strategic partnership and highlighted cooperation in defence, pharmaceuticals, technology and innovation. It informed the minister that nearly 200 French nationals currently live in Telangana.
The French representatives welcomed Telangana’s proposals and assured support for promoting Hyderabad as a preferred destination for French travellers. Both sides expressed confidence that stronger cooperation in tourism, culture and heritage would deepen India-France ties and create new opportunities for mutual growth.
