Hyderabad: SIO Telangana has demanded a high-level inquiry into the TMREIS Golconda incident involving a minor student at a girls’ hostel. The organisation also called for strict legal action against those responsible and institutional reforms to strengthen student safety in residential educational institutions.
In a statement, SIO Telangana expressed concern over reports that a minor student allegedly gave birth inside the TMREIS Girls’ Hostel in Golconda. The organisation described it as the second serious incident reported in a TMREIS institution in recent years and said it raised questions about student safety, institutional oversight and administrative accountability.

SIO Telangana sought a fair, impartial and time-bound inquiry to establish the facts surrounding the incident. It also demanded strict legal action against the alleged perpetrator or perpetrators and departmental action against officials found negligent in discharging their duties.
The organisation urged the Telangana government to ensure accountability while restoring public confidence in residential educational institutions.

SIO Telangana called on the government to strengthen student protection mechanisms across all residential educational institutions. It also sought improved medical and psychological counselling services, stronger hostel supervision, effective child protection protocols and institutional safeguards to prevent similar incidents.
The organisation said the safety, dignity and well-being of every student should remain the highest priority. It also expressed solidarity with the affected student and her family while urging the government to ensure justice and implement corrective measures.
