BRS challenges Congress to show development in Nalgonda district

Hyderabad: BRS leader and Suryapet MLA G. Jagadish Reddy challenged the Congress government to identify a single major initiative undertaken for Nalgonda development since it assumed office. He alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had focused on personal attacks instead of addressing the district’s development during his recent public meeting.

Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Jagadish Reddy claimed a large part of the Chief Minister’s speech targeted BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao, working president K.T. Rama Rao, BRS Legislative Party deputy leader T. Harish Rao and himself.

Nalgonda development takes centre stage

Jagadish Reddy alleged that the Congress government had failed to deliver any significant development in Nalgonda during its tenure. He challenged the government to present evidence of major projects implemented in the district.

He also claimed that some Congress legislators did not attend the Chief Minister’s public meeting. In addition, he alleged that public funds were spent on political events without producing tangible results.

The BRS leader further claimed that both Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and BJP national president Nitin Nabin had criticised the BRS leadership during separate meetings while avoiding criticism of each other.

Nalgonda development and irrigation issues

Jagadish Reddy criticised the state government over irrigation, alleging that it had failed to utilise available water in the Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir effectively. He also demanded that the Assembly convene to discuss public issues.

Former MLA Kancharla Ravindra Kumar alleged that the government had neglected key irrigation projects, including the SLBC and Dindi schemes, and failed to complete works initiated during the previous BRS administration.

Former MLAs Bhupal Reddy, Gongidi Sunitha, Gadari Kishore and K. Prabhakar Reddy, along with BRS leaders Narasimha Reddy and Palle Ravi Kumar, also attended the press conference.
