Adluri highlights welfare achievements and development agenda in Karimnagar

Hyderabad: SC, ST Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar said welfare achievements and comprehensive development remain the Telangana government’s primary objectives as the state moves forward under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s leadership.

Addressing Telangana Formation Day celebrations at the Police Parade Grounds in Karimnagar on Tuesday, the minister paid tributes to Telangana martyrs and said the state emerged from the sacrifices of thousands of people and the aspirations of its citizens.

After unfurling the National Flag and receiving a guard of honour, Adluri Laxman Kumar said Telangana had evolved into a symbol of development, welfare, self-confidence and self-respect since its formation in 2014. He added that the government was delivering transparent governance and working to make Telangana a model state.

The minister said the government had prepared the “Telangana Rising-2047” vision document to transform the state into a global economic powerhouse. According to him, attracting investments, creating jobs and using wealth for public welfare remain key priorities.

Welfare achievements drive development in Karimnagar

Adluri Laxman Kumar said the Praja Palana–Pragati Pranalika programme was being implemented successfully across the district. As part of the initiative, authorities conducted cleanliness drives in 3,506 government offices and resolved 2,913 pending files. Moreover, a mega job fair involving 78 companies provided employment to 292 people.

Under the Mahalakshmi scheme, women completed 7.39 crore free bus journeys, receiving benefits worth ₹334 crore. In addition, the government supplied 9.23 lakh LPG cylinders at ₹500 each to 1.58 lakh beneficiaries at a subsidy cost of ₹29.78 crore.

The minister said the Griha Jyoti scheme benefited 1.73 lakh consumers in the district, delivering support worth ₹153 crore. Meanwhile, under Rythu Bharosa, the government deposited ₹143.35 crore into the accounts of 1.93 lakh farmers. Families of 267 deceased farmers received ₹13.35 crore under Rythu Bima.

Welfare achievements extend to housing, education and healthcare

Highlighting housing initiatives, the minister said authorities selected 10,114 beneficiaries under the Indiramma Housing Scheme. Of these, 7,076 houses are under construction and 2,081 families have already entered their new homes.

He said procurement centres purchased 2.90 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the Yasangi season and transferred ₹554 crore directly into farmers’ accounts. Furthermore, officials procured 23,710 metric tonnes of maize.

The minister highlighted progress in education and said students achieved a 98.57 per cent SSC pass rate. Authorities also launched 58 pre-primary schools and organised summer camps for nearly 1,000 students.

For SC and BC students, the government provided hostel admissions, fee reimbursement and scholarships. Additionally, beneficiaries received assistance under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes.

In healthcare, Rajiv Aarogyasri enabled 52,116 people to undergo free surgeries. The government spent ₹139 crore on treatment through network hospitals. Anganwadi centres also supplied nutrition to pregnant women, lactating mothers and children across the district.

The minister thanked public representatives, officials, police personnel, journalists, Telangana activists and residents for contributing to Karimnagar’s progress. He said the government would continue working towards the aspirations of Telangana martyrs while ensuring inclusive development.
