Hyderabad: The Telangana government will launch Poshana Masa Mahotsav from September 17 to October 16 to promote nutrition awareness among women and children, Minister for Women and Child Welfare Seethakka announced.
Anganwadi workers will lead the month-long campaign by visiting households and encouraging families to adopt healthy eating habits. Seethakka said in a statement on Sunday that the programme aims to highlight the role of proper nutrition in maintaining family health.
The government has allocated ₹30,000 to each Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) project. It also sanctioned ₹50,000 per district to fund local awareness drives and health camps. These events will take place at the village, district, and state levels.
Seethakka has sent letters to elected representatives across Telangana, asking them to support the campaign in their areas. She instructed department officials to make sure the nutrition message reaches every home by the end of the initiative.
