Governor says para-athletes inspire society through determination

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said para-athletes inspire society by transforming challenges into opportunities and adversity into strength.

Addressing the 14th Presentation and Felicitation Ceremony organised by the Aditya Mehta Foundation in Rasoolpura on Thursday, the Governor praised the achievements of differently-abled athletes and the organisation’s efforts towards their empowerment.

He lauded the Foundation for promoting sports, training and rehabilitation programmes for persons with disabilities.

During the event, the Governor interacted with para-athletes and reviewed the training facilities provided by the Foundation.

Para-athletes inspire society through perseverance

Shiv Pratap Shukla said the Aditya Mehta Foundation had played a vital role in identifying and nurturing sporting talent at the grassroots level.

He noted that the organisation had helped several athletes reach national and international competitions through sustained support and training.

The Governor said athletes who overcome physical challenges through determination and hard work serve as role models for society.

Furthermore, he emphasised that their achievements demonstrated the power of resilience and commitment.

Para-athletes inspire society and strengthen inclusion

The Governor congratulated para-cyclists Shivani, Jyoti, Sheikh Arshad and Leesha Das for their accomplishments.

He described their success as a matter of pride for the country and expressed confidence that they would continue to enhance India’s reputation in international sports.

Shiv Pratap Shukla said inclusion should not remain a policy objective alone. Instead, he stressed that society must treat it as a collective responsibility.

Moreover, he said institutions such as the Aditya Mehta Foundation were building confidence among persons with disabilities and creating opportunities for them to showcase their abilities.
