Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy paid tribute to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand on National Sports Day. He also extended his wishes to sportspersons and athletes representing India on the field.
Reddy said sport builds character, discipline and a pursuit of excellence. He noted that these values were needed in India now more than ever.
The Chief Minister also called for greater support for grassroots sporting talent. He urged that young people receive every opportunity to develop their abilities and excel in sports.
In his message, Reddy saluted and paid homage to Major Dhyan Chand, remembered as a hockey wizard. Meanwhile, he conveyed his best wishes to athletes carrying India’s flag and spirit onto the field.
Revanth Reddy calls for grassroots sports support
Reddy urged a continued focus on nurturing sporting talent at the grassroots level. He said young people should receive opportunities to pursue excellence through sport.
