Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan Kumar accused the BJP of adopting contradictory positions on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and alleged a political understanding between the BJP and Congress in Telangana.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks in Hyderabad inviting Revanth Reddy to “join hands” with the BJP, Dasoju Sravan Kumar questioned the party’s stand towards the Chief Minister.
He said BJP leaders frequently accused Revanth Reddy of corruption and criticised the Congress for allegedly using Telangana as an “ATM”. However, he questioned why the party was simultaneously extending political overtures to the Chief Minister.
According to the BRS leader, the BJP’s criticism of Revanth Reddy was only a political façade while maintaining cordial relations behind the scenes.
Dasoju Sravan Kumar questions BJP stand
Dasoju Sravan Kumar alleged that the BJP was projecting Revanth Reddy as a potential future entrant into the party.
He compared the situation with leaders such as Himanta Biswa Sarma and Suvendu Adhikari, who later joined the BJP after beginning their political careers in other parties.
The BRS leader demanded clarity from the BJP leadership regarding its position on the Telangana Chief Minister.
He asked whether Revanth Reddy should be viewed as a corrupt Congress leader, as alleged by the BJP, or as a political ally whom the party was openly courting.
Dasoju Sravan Kumar remarks trigger fresh debate
The comments have intensified the political confrontation among the BRS, BJP and Congress in Telangana.
Moreover, the remarks have added a new dimension to the ongoing war of words between the three major political parties ahead of future political contests in the state.
Neither the BJP nor the Congress immediately responded to the allegations made by the BRS leader.
The latest remarks come amid continuing political exchanges over governance, corruption allegations and electoral strategies in Telangana.
