Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Khammam Range, caught Bukya Valusimha, a warden and record assistant at the ST Boys Hostel, Palvancha, while allegedly accepting a Rs.14,000 bribe on Friday. He was also serving as the in-charge of the ST Boys Hostel at Satyanarayanapuram in Charla mandal.
According to the ACB, the officer initially demanded Rs.15,000 from the complainant. The alleged demand was made to avoid treating six days of absence in August 2026 as unauthorised absence and to prevent adverse consequences in her service.
The ACB further said the officer allegedly sought the money to ensure that there would be no obstruction in processing the complainant’s salary bills in future. Following negotiations, the alleged bribe demand was reduced to Rs.14,000.
The officer allegedly accepted the amount at the Satyanarayanapuram hostel. ACB officials recovered the tainted money from his possession after the trap. Chemical tests conducted on both his hands reportedly returned positive results.
The ACB said the officer had acted improperly and dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage. The agency arrested him following the trap and is producing him before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Warangal.
Rs.14,000 bribe case under investigation
The ACB case remained under investigation, and the allegations against the accused officer had not been established through a final judicial finding. The agency’s action followed the complaint regarding the alleged demand linked to absence records and future salary bill processing.
The identity and other details of the complainant were withheld for security reasons. The ACB was continuing its investigation into the case following the arrest and recovery of the alleged tainted amount.
