Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said medical devices manufacturing in the state has strong infrastructure. He added that facilities are ready for immediate operations at the Medical Devices Park in Genome Valley.
During a meeting with MedTech industrialists and university researchers from the Netherlands at the Secretariat on Tuesday, he outlined the state’s advantages. According to him, Telangana offers a favourable ecosystem for research, artificial intelligence, and medical devices manufacturing.
The minister noted that the state ranks among the top in pharmaceutical production, innovation, and vaccine manufacturing. He also recalled that biotech firms from Telangana supplied vaccines to 120 countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Medical devices manufacturing backed by infrastructure and AI
The government aims to position Telangana as a global hub for medical devices manufacturing, he said. He added that industries benefit from reliable power, water availability, and sufficient land.
Opportunities in artificial intelligence within healthcare are expanding, he noted. These include imaging systems, clinical validation, and digital health profiles.
Telangana’s skilled workforce has attracted major global pharmaceutical and biotech firms. In addition, he encouraged collaborations with local universities to strengthen research and innovation.
A delegation led by Netherlands Innovation Counselor Jan Reint Smit attended the meeting.
Senior officials, including IT Advisor I. Sai Krishna, TGIIC MD Shashank, Industries Commissioner Nikhil Chakravarthy, Special Secretary Raghurama Sharma, and Telangana Life Sciences CEO Sarvesh Singh, were present.
