Hajj 2026 arrangements Hyderabad reviewed for 10,000 pilgrims

Hyderabad: Telangana Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammad Azharuddin on Wednesday reviewed arrangements for Hajj 2026 and directed officials to ensure world-class facilities for nearly 10,000 pilgrims departing from Hyderabad.

He chaired a high-level meeting at the Secretariat to assess preparations. During the review, he examined accommodation, transport, airport coordination, medical services, security, and baggage handling.

Officials informed that charter flights operated by Flynas will run from Hyderabad to Jeddah between May 4 and May 21, 2026. Return flights from Madina to Hyderabad will operate from June 11 to June 26, 2026.

The minister directed officials to ensure comfortable accommodation at Hajj House. He also called for fast-track documentation and boarding pass services.

Moreover, he stressed the need for proper medical screening and vaccination camps. Dedicated buses from Hajj House to the airport will be arranged.

He instructed authorities to put in place an efficient baggage handling system. In addition, he sought special facilities for women pilgrims.

He also emphasised priority assistance for elderly pilgrims, including aerobridge access. Arrangements for prayers, ablution, and sanitation will be ensured.

The minister directed officials to maintain round-the-clock security and effective crowd management. He said pilgrim welfare would remain the top priority.

He highlighted that special focus would be given to elderly persons, women, and first-time pilgrims. This, he said, would help them complete their journey with dignity.

Officials from multiple departments attended the meeting. These included police, airport authorities, GHMC, RTC, health, TS Transco, fire services, BSNL, banks, and the Hajj Committee.

They assured full coordination for smooth arrangements. Officials added that preparations under the minister’s supervision would rank among the best in recent years.
