Hyderabad: A Telangana Police head constable saved a man’s life after responding to a Dial 100 emergency call from Udatalapalli village in Chandur mandal on Sunday night. He reached the spot within five minutes and rescued the victim.
Police said a dispute had broken out between a husband and wife. The husband then went into a room and attempted suicide by hanging himself. His wife immediately alerted the police through the 100 emergency call.
Dial 100 emergency call prompts swift police response
Head Constable Adimoolam Srinivas, who was on duty at Chandur Police Station, rushed to the house after receiving the alert. He found the man hanging inside the locked room.
Srinivas broke open the main door and entered the room without delay. He removed the noose and administered CPR to the victim. Thereafter, he shifted the man to a hospital for treatment, where timely medical care helped save his life.
Local residents and senior police officials appreciated the head constable’s alertness, courage and prompt response. They said the incident highlighted the police department’s commitment to protecting lives during emergencies.
