Congress leaders dispute linked to reported argument at Delhi hotel

The controversy reportedly began during the Congress-led INDIA bloc protest at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. The alliance organised the demonstration against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Several Telangana Congress leaders and workers travelled to Delhi for the programme. During their stay, an argument reportedly erupted between Damodara Rajanarasimha and Lakshmikanth Rao in the lobby of the Shangri-La Hotel.

Media reports said the MLA accused the minister of making personal remarks and issuing threats. He also alleged that the minister shouted at and verbally abused him.

Differences over nominated posts, party affairs and constituency-level matters reportedly triggered the confrontation. However, the exact cause remains unclear.

The TPCC also plans to examine complaints of indiscipline from other constituencies. It intends to address those issues after dealing with the latest controversy.

Disagreements among Congress leaders have surfaced in several constituencies since the party formed the government. Jadcherla MLA Anirudh Reddy had publicly questioned fund allocations. Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had also criticised delays in releasing funds.

The Congress leaders dispute has added to the party leadership’s concerns. The TPCC has called both leaders to Gandhi Bhavan to seek their explanations.
