Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao questioned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s educational qualifications while accusing the Congress government of failing Telangana’s unemployed youth. KTR questions Revanth qualifications emerged as a key part of his attack over delayed recruitment and unfulfilled election promises.
Addressing a media conference at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad, Rama Rao criticised Revanth Reddy and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He alleged that government inaction and broken promises had caused severe anxiety among unemployed youth across the State.
He said the Congress had made extensive commitments under its Youth Declaration before the Assembly elections. However, he alleged that the government had failed to implement those promises after coming to power.
Rama Rao said the government had presented a job calendar in the Assembly nearly two years earlier. Yet, he alleged that it had not completed the promised recruitment process.
He also referred to a reported suicide attempt by a young man. According to Rama Rao, unemployment and the absence of recruitment opportunities had caused the youth severe distress.
KTR questions Revanth qualifications amid police jobs dispute
Rama Rao alleged that nearly 20,000 police posts remained vacant across Telangana. However, he said the government had proposed recruitment for only about 7,000 posts.
He described the limited notification as a betrayal of unemployed candidates. Furthermore, he demanded clarity on the remaining police vacancies and the government’s recruitment schedule.
Rama Rao recalled Rahul Gandhi’s interaction with unemployed youth at Ashok Nagar in Hyderabad before the elections. He asked what had happened to the promises Gandhi had made during that meeting.
The BRS leader alleged that the Congress had promised to fill two lakh government jobs after taking office. However, he claimed that the administration had not filled even 10,000 posts.
He also accused Revanth Reddy of making irresponsible remarks when unemployed candidates sought fresh recruitment notifications. Rama Rao alleged that the Chief Minister had told them to consume pesticide and die.
The BRS leader strongly criticised the reported remark. He said such language showed insensitivity towards young people seeking employment.
Rama Rao also referred to Revanth Reddy’s reported description of engineering graduates as “criminal waste.” He alleged that the Chief Minister himself faced several criminal cases and used the same expression against him.
He questioned Rahul Gandhi’s silence over the controversy. Moreover, he asked whether Gandhi, who publicly carried a copy of the Constitution, could not see the injustice faced by Telangana’s unemployed youth.
Rama Rao alleged that the Congress had failed to fulfil any of the 24 promises included in its Youth Declaration. He demanded that Gandhi explain the government’s record on those commitments.
KTR questions Revanth qualifications and recruitment record
Rama Rao said he had doubts about Revanth Reddy’s educational background. He asked whether the Chief Minister could complete his election affidavit without assistance.
He also questioned whether Revanth Reddy had ever attended a job interview. In addition, he asked whether the Chief Minister understood the effort and hardship faced by students and job aspirants.
Rama Rao compared the Congress government’s performance with the previous BRS administration. He claimed that the BRS government had filled more than two lakh jobs despite the Covid-19 crisis.
He also said the previous government had continued recruitment despite interruptions in Central funding. Therefore, he argued that the present administration could not use delays as an excuse.
Finally, Rama Rao demanded an immediate response from Revanth Reddy and Rahul Gandhi. He asked them to state when the government would complete recruitment for the promised two lakh jobs.
