Revanth lays foundation stone for Indiramma Towers, assures 22A land issue resolution
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for Indiramma Houses (Towers) at KPHB Colony in Kukatpally and assured rights holders that 22A land issues would be resolved.
The project comes under the Core Urban Region (CURE). Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar, along with public representatives, attended the foundation-laying programme.
Addressing local residents, Revanth Reddy explained the government’s approach to lands included in the prohibited 22A list. He said officials would assign sub-numbers to survey numbers to resolve the problems faced by rights holders.
“Any land that entered 22 A for any reason will not go anywhere from the rights of those who purchased it. I assure you,” Revanth Reddy said.
He explained that authorities had included entire survey numbers in the prohibited list when some parcels within them faced court cases. The government was setting aside land under litigation and assigning sub-numbers to the remaining portions, he said.
The Chief Minister therefore asked affected rights holders not to worry about the 22A land issues. He said the government was taking steps to resolve eligible claims.
Revanth Reddy also directed Sridhar Babu to give special attention to development needs in Kukatpally. He sought focus on roads, flyovers, lake restoration, schools, colleges and industries that could create employment.
The Chief Minister asked people to compare the previous government’s performance with the Congress government’s two-year tenure. He said the government had not stopped any welfare programme implemented by the previous administration.
Instead, the government had introduced additional welfare measures, he said. Revanth Reddy listed several initiatives while addressing the gathering.
22A land issues addressed as CM details welfare measures
He said 3.28 crore people across the State were receiving six kilograms of fine rice per person. The government was also providing 200 units of free electricity and cooking gas cylinders for ₹500.
Revanth Reddy said the government had distributed one crore Indiramma sarees to one crore women. Free travel on TSRTC buses had also benefited people travelling for jobs, livelihoods and education.
According to the Chief Minister, free bus travel helped people save ₹6,000 to ₹7,000 a month. He said the government had already paid ₹12,000 crore to the RTC.
The government had provided self-help groups with ₹65,000 crore in bank linkage, Revanth Reddy said. It had also paid ₹2,500 crore towards interest.
The government had purchased 1,000 buses in the names of women’s groups and hired them to the RTC, he said. It had also facilitated opportunities for setting up solar power plants with a combined capacity of 1,000 MW.
Revanth Reddy said the government had allotted three-and-a-half acres at Shilparamam for Indira Mahila Bazaars. Women from Adilabad forests to Achampet would get an opportunity to sell their products there, he said.
The Chief Minister said the government had filled 70,000 posts across departments within two years. He also highlighted the construction of Indiramma Towers on 11 acres in Kukatpally.
Indiramma Towers plans focus on housing for the urban poor
Revanth Reddy said the government wanted to provide houses to poor people close to their existing places of residence in the city. He also directed ministers to waive registration charges for houses constructed for the poor.
Under the housing initiative, the government would provide land entirely free of cost to beneficiaries, he said. Beneficiaries would contribute ₹5 lakh to ₹6 lakh towards construction costs and could monitor the work as rights holders.
The Chief Minister said the government was working to fulfil the dream of owning a house for poor families. The first phase would cover areas with large poor populations, including Kukatpally, Quthbullapur, Medchal, Cantonment and LB Nagar.
The initiative would also cover areas where people had migrated from other districts, States and countries for work. Revanth Reddy said the government wanted to provide them with good houses.
He said people earlier had to visit gram panchayats, municipalities and corporations for different works. To improve public convenience, the government had established the Cyberabad Commissionerate, he said.
Revanth Reddy assured residents that he would stand by them for development. He said he had the intention to benefit more people and the determination to work for the State’s progress.
He said God had given him the strength to work 18 hours a day to move Telangana from destruction towards development. The Chief Minister sought the people’s blessings for those efforts.
The foundation stone for the Indiramma Houses (Towers) at KPHB Colony was laid in the presence of Ministers and public representatives. The government’s process of resolving eligible 22A land issues through survey sub-numbers remained under way.
