Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy defended Revanth Reddy Delhi visits, saying the Chief Minister travelled to the national capital to secure Telangana’s rightful Central funds and tax share.
Komatireddy said the visits focused on obtaining funds and tax devolution due to Telangana. He made the remarks in Balmoor in the Achampet constituency of Nagarkurnool district on Monday.
The Minister spoke after laying the foundation stone for three Hybrid Annuity Model road projects. The three HAM projects had a combined value of ₹146.71 crore. Tourism, Culture and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao also attended the programme.
Revanth Reddy Delhi visits focused on infrastructure
Komatireddy said he and the Chief Minister had met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. They had pressed the Centre for major projects related to the Roads and Buildings sector.
“The Chief Minister and I met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to press for key projects under the Roads and Buildings department,” Komatireddy said.
He said several initiatives worth ₹1 lakh crore were being sanctioned. According to the Minister, these included a bullet train proposal, the Srisailam elevated corridor and the Somasila bridge.
The Minister cited these projects while explaining the purpose of Revanth Reddy Delhi visits and the State government’s engagement with the Centre.
Komatireddy also said the Achampet region had significant potential for tourism development. He said the region was expected to develop into a major tourism hub with support from an expanded high-speed road network.
Revanth Reddy Delhi visits linked to Srisailam project push
Komatireddy highlighted the proposed Srisailam elevated corridor as an important infrastructure project for the region. He said the corridor would considerably reduce travel difficulties for devotees coming from both Telugu states. Moreover, the project would provide safer transit through the region.
The Minister linked the State’s efforts to secure major infrastructure projects with its discussions at the Central level. He maintained that the Chief Minister’s trips to Delhi were aimed at pursuing Telangana’s financial and developmental interests.
The remarks came as the State government launched the three HAM road projects worth ₹146.71 crore in Balmoor.
