Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy unveiled the statues of social reformers Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule on Necklace Road in Hyderabad on Friday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Revanth Reddy highlighted the couple’s contributions to social equality, education and women’s empowerment. He said their ideals continued to guide governance and policy in the State.
In particular, the Chief Minister emphasised their role in advancing social equality. He also said their contribution to education and women’s empowerment remained significant.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka attended the unveiling ceremony. PCC President Mahesh Goud and Ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Vakiti Srihari, Ponnam Prabhakar, Konda Surekha and Azharuddin were also present.
Meanwhile, Whip Aadi Srinivas and Government Advisors V. Hanumantha Rao and K. Keshav Rao attended the programme. MPs Anil Kumar Yadav, R. Krishnaiah and Suresh Shetkar also participated.
MLAs Danam Nagender, Naveen Yadav, Mandula Samuel, Makkan Singh Raj Thakur, Prakash Goud and Sri Ganesh attended the event. Leaders of BC associations and senior officials were also present.
The ceremony brought together Ministers, legislators, public representatives, BC association leaders and senior officials. The statues of Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule now stand on Necklace Road following the unveiling.
Furthermore, Revanth Reddy reiterated the relevance of the reformers’ ideals to State governance. He said their principles continued to guide policies concerning social equality, education and women’s empowerment.
The Chief Minister unveiled the statues in the presence of Ministers and other public representatives. The programme marked a tribute to the two social reformers and their contributions.
