Pink Power Run 3.0 targets 20,000 participants in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Pink Power Run 3.0 was announced for September 27 at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road, with organisers targeting more than 20,000 participants. The event will carry a ₹75 lakh prize pool and focus on breast cancer awareness.

Organisers announced details of the third edition at a press conference in Hyderabad on Monday. The event will bring together fitness enthusiasts, professional athletes, families and corporate participants.

The Sudha Reddy Foundation and MEIL Foundation will organise the international fitness initiative. It will feature four race categories and award prizes to more than 100 winners.

The categories will include an AIMS-certified 21.097-km half marathon and a 10-km race. In addition, participants can compete in 5-km and 3-km runs.

Pink Power Run 3.0 links running with cancer screening

Sudha Reddy, founder of the Sudha Reddy Foundation and director of MEIL, announced the event details. She said the initiative aimed to integrate fitness, preventive healthcare and early detection into everyday life.

Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri and breast oncosurgeon Dr. Pragnya Chigurupati also attended the press conference. Pink Power Run 3.0 will include a social-impact programme called “Miles for Mammograms” in partnership with AIG Hospitals.

Under the initiative, every 100 km collectively completed by participants will provide one free breast cancer screening. It will also provide one free mammogram for an underprivileged patient.

Dr. Chigurupati stressed the importance of increasing awareness and encouraging early detection of breast cancer. She particularly highlighted the need to expand such efforts in rural and semi-urban communities. Meanwhile, Opal Suchata emphasised collective action as an important factor in building lasting health awareness.

Pink Power Run 3.0 adds global virtual race

Organisers also unveiled the official race jersey and medal during Monday’s announcement. In addition, they announced a global virtual run for people unable to participate physically in Hyderabad.

The virtual format will allow participants worldwide to join remotely without paying a registration fee. Several corporate partners will support the event, including HPCL, BPCL, IOCL, AIG and Decathlon. Organisers said registrations had opened through iFinish and District.

Pink Power Run 3.0 will combine competitive running with its breast cancer awareness and screening initiative. Organisers expected the September 27 event to become the biggest edition held so far.

The ₹75 lakh prize purse, internationally certified half marathon and social-impact programme will form the key components of this year’s event.
