Hyderabad: Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender on Friday urged the Telangana government to strengthen corporate land use monitoring in Hyderabad and prevent real estate diversion.
Speaking in the Assembly, Nagender said companies should use government-allotted land mainly for industries and IT operations. Moreover, he said such allocations should support employment generation instead of commercial real estate development.
The MLA asked the government to closely examine how corporate companies used land allotted to them in Hyderabad. According to him, authorities should ensure that companies fulfilled the original purpose of each allocation.
Corporate land use monitoring needs safeguards: Nagender
Nagender referred to companies such as Tech Mahindra while discussing the expansion of corporate operations in Hyderabad. He said the government should ensure that firms receiving land complied with the conditions attached to those allotments.
Therefore, Nagender called for clear conditions and regulatory safeguards during the land allocation process. Such measures, he said, would help ensure corporate land use monitoring and prevent diversion towards real estate activities.
At the same time, the MLA urged the IT Minister to encourage genuine investments in Hyderabad. He said the government should attract more companies that could create employment opportunities on a large scale.
Nagender maintained that corporate land use monitoring should accompany efforts to bring additional investment into the city. He stressed that companies receiving land should use it for industries, IT activities and employment generation.
