Chief Secretary reviews BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group meeting preparations

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju reviewed preparations for the BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group meeting, which Hyderabad will host on August 4 and 5. He directed all departments to coordinate closely and complete the arrangements well in advance.

Senior State Government officials and representatives of the Government of India attended the review meeting at the Secretariat. They discussed coordination measures for the international event.

The BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group meeting will bring together around 40 delegates from the 11 BRICS member countries. Nearly 40 senior officials from the Government of India will also participate.

During the meeting, Department of Personnel and Training Joint Secretary Sushil Kumar Patel presented the event plan. He sought State Government support for security, sanitation, healthcare, emergency medical services, transport, protocol, accommodation, venue management and logistics.

Reviewing the preparations, Sanjay Jaju instructed officials to ensure foolproof security and efficient traffic management. He also directed them to maintain sanitation, provide adequate medical facilities and ensure uninterrupted civic services.

Further, the Chief Secretary said Hyderabad had earned a global reputation for hosting major international conferences. He urged officials to uphold that reputation during the BRICS meeting. He also asked them to work closely with the Government of India and finish all preparations on time.

Sanjay Jaju assured full support from the State Government for the event. He said Telangana would extend complete cooperation to the Government of India. He added that the State would ensure the comfort, safety and convenience of all delegates.

YAT&C Special Chief Secretary Vani Prasad, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Special Chief Secretary Dana Kishore, GAD (Poll) Principal Secretary Ahmed Nadeem, Health Principal Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu, Planning Secretary Gaurav Uppal and Agriculture Secretary Surendra Mohan attended the meeting.

Industries Special Secretary Krishna Aditya, ADGP (Law and Order) Mahesh Bhagwat, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, Director of Protocol Shiva Lingaiah, Special Commissioner of Information and Public Relations Mukunda Reddy and other senior officials also attended.
