Hyderabad: A KGBV student suicide attempt was reported in Telangana’s Narayanpet district after a first-year Intermediate student allegedly jumped from the second floor of her college building at Pediripad Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Maddur mandal. Officials said the student’s condition was stable after she was shifted for treatment.
According to Mandal Education Officer (MEO) Janardhan Reddy, the student belongs to Vallampalli village in Ootkur mandal and is studying in the first year of Intermediate at the residential institution.
On Monday evening, a young man, who claimed to be a relative of the student, visited the college to meet her. However, a teacher questioned him and asked him to leave the campus.
It was later reported that the same young man returned to the college gate and spoke to the student. Subsequently, the college staff informed the student’s family members about the incident over the phone.

According to officials, the student feared that her parents would come to the college the next day and reprimand her. She then allegedly jumped from the second floor of the college building.
The injured student was immediately shifted to the Government Hospital in Maddur for first aid. Later, doctors referred her to Mahabubnagar Hospital for further treatment. Officials said her health condition was stable.
