Hyderabad Traffic Police induct 30 new patrol bikes through CSR

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police inducted 30 new Hyderabad traffic patrol bikes to strengthen traffic management and emergency response across the city. The Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) partnered with the police for the initiative.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner and HCSC Chairman V.C. Sajjanar flagged off the new patrol bikes. The programme also recognised corporate organisations for supporting traffic management through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Hyderabad traffic patrol bikes strengthen emergency response

CSR contributions worth ₹1.6 crore funded the procurement of the new Avenger patrol bikes. As a result, the Hyderabad Traffic Police fleet increased to 80 mobile patrol vehicles.

Major contributors included NCC Urban, which sponsored 13 bikes. In addition, Veka contributed 10 bikes, Ratnadeep Retail donated four, Kamal Watch Company sponsored two and Brihaspathi Perspective Technologies provided one.

Sajjanar said patrol teams would use CCTV-based monitoring to respond quickly to accidents, vehicle breakdowns, illegal parking and traffic bottlenecks.

Hyderabad traffic patrol bikes backed by CSR support

Sajjanar said Hyderabad has nearly 95 lakh vehicles. Meanwhile, the city adds between 1,500 and 2,000 new vehicles every day. He added that only 2,500 to 3,000 traffic personnel manage the city’s roads.

He said HCSC had deployed 120 Traffic Marshals during the past six months. Furthermore, he announced plans to expand the women-focused Spandana emergency vehicle initiative to every police station by using electric vehicles.

The programme concluded with the felicitation of 45 corporate organisations. Finally, Hyderabad Traffic Police recognised their CSR support for the Traffic Marshals programme.
