CSR fund utilization reviewed by CM Revanth Reddy in Telangana

Hyderabad: A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday reviewed CSR fund utilisation and called for greater mobilisation and effective use of corporate social responsibility resources within Telangana.

During a meeting held at the Legislative Council Conference Hall, the Chief Minister expressed concern that several companies were allocating a significant share of CSR funds outside the state. He said CSR fund utilisation did not match the scale of industrial and corporate activity in Telangana.

He stressed that CSR resources should directly benefit people within the state. Therefore, he directed officials to ensure that a substantial portion of CSR fund utilisation remains within Telangana.

CSR fund utilisation target and monitoring plan

The Chief Minister proposed that at least 50 percent of CSR fund utilisation should take place within the state. He called for a structured and result-oriented approach to achieve this target.

Moreover, he emphasised transparency and accountability in CSR fund utilisation. He instructed officials to establish a dedicated monitoring mechanism to track implementation.

He also proposed creating a centralised digital platform. This system will improve coordination, enhance transparency, and track CSR initiatives across Telangana.

CSR fund utilisation reforms and corporate participation

To boost participation, Revanth Reddy suggested recognising organisations contributing significantly through CSR initiatives. He also directed officials to study best practices from other states and adapt suitable models for Telangana.

Further, he ordered the establishment of a dedicated office to oversee CSR fund utilisation. This office will strengthen coordination between the government and corporate entities.

Senior officials, including Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and Special Chief Secretary Sabyasachi Ghosh, attended the meeting. Other senior bureaucrats were also present during the review.

The Chief Minister said strengthening CSR fund utilisation remains crucial for accelerating development and improving public welfare across Telangana.
