Hyderabad: Chandrayangutta Police investigated a suspected arson incident after an auto-rickshaw caught fire in Gazi-e-Millat Colony at around 3 am. The Chandrayangutta auto fire occurred while the vehicle was parked near its owner’s house.
The auto belonged to 24-year-old Syed Khaja. It carried registration number TG12 T 8839 and was around one year old.
According to Khaja, he suddenly noticed the auto engulfed in flames and rushed outside. However, he found the vehicle completely on fire.
Khaja suspected that unidentified persons had deliberately set his auto ablaze. Police were subsequently informed about the incident.
Chandrayangutta auto fire CCTV footage examined
Chandrayangutta Police took up an investigation into after receiving information about the incident. Investigators examined available CCTV footage and other evidence.
Police sought to establish how the fire started and identify any persons suspected of involvement. Meanwhile, the owner’s allegation that unidentified persons deliberately torched the vehicle remained under investigation.
The incident occurred within the limits of Chandrayangutta Police Station in Hyderabad. Further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire remained underway.
