Hyderabad: Minister for Roads, Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has assured farmers that the Telangana government will procure every bundle of cotton and every grain of paddy.
Komatireddy reviews procurement progress in Bhuvanagiri
On Monday, he held a review meeting at the Bhuvanagiri Collectorate. The session focused on the status of ongoing procurement operations. Komatireddy asked officials for detailed updates and instructed them to weigh, cover, and transport produce without delays.
He said the continued rainfall made timely action critical. “Farmers need not worry. The government will purchase all paddy that meets moisture standards,” he said. He warned officials that negligence would not be tolerated.
Two-shift system to fast-track loading and transport
To prevent stock buildup at procurement centres, Komatireddy ordered loading and transport in two shifts daily. He reminded farmers that the government had supplied tarpaulin covers and urged them to use these to protect crops from rain.
Weather forecasts indicate more rain in the coming days. The Minister urged farmers to act quickly to protect their harvested paddy and cotton.
Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Government Whip and Alair MLA Bheerla Ilaiah, District Collector Hanumantha Rao, DCP Akshansh Yadav, Additional Collectors Veera Reddy and Bhaskar Rao, ACP Rahul Reddy, and other district officials attended the meeting.
