Traffic awareness programme held for school bus drivers and ayahs

Hyderabad: A Traffic awareness programme for school bus drivers and ayahs (vehicle assistants) was held at Sri Vidyaranya International School in Bandlaguda to strengthen road safety and student protection. Rajendranagar Traffic Police organised the programme in coordination with the Traffic Training Institute (TTI), Goshamahal.

Around 50 members of the school’s transport staff participated in the awareness session. Officials explained key traffic rules and safe driving practices to improve safety during school transportation.

Traffic awareness programme focuses on student safety

Officials educated participants on mandatory, warning and informative traffic signs. They also explained the importance of road markings and their role in safe driving.

Further, the officials stressed the use of rear-view mirrors, safe overtaking practices and careful observation before changing lanes or overtaking other vehicles.

The programme also focused on student safety during boarding and de-boarding. Officials explained the responsibilities of ayahs and vehicle assistants in ensuring children’s safety throughout the journey.

In addition, the participants received guidance on navigating roundabouts safely. They also learnt about common traffic violations, legal consequences and responsible driving practices.

Head Constable Venu Gopal from the Traffic Training Institute, Goshamahal, attended the programme. Sri Vidyaranya International School Principal Ramaviswanadhan and other traffic police personnel also participated.
