Hyderabad Traffic Police book six for fake number plates

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police registered criminal cases against six people for using fake number plates and unauthorised registration plates on their vehicles. The action came as part of a special enforcement drive against traffic violations across the city.

Police said some motorists had altered registration numbers or installed fake number plate to evade traffic enforcement and for other unlawful purposes. During the past week, officers identified such vehicles and seized them after registering criminal cases.

The cases were booked at the Jubilee Hills, Malakpet, Begum Bazaar, Abids, and Kachiguda police stations. Officials said the drive against vehicles displaying number plates would continue without interruption.

Fake number plates attract vehicle seizure and criminal action

Hyderabad Traffic Police urged motorists to use only government-approved registration number plates. They warned that altering registration numbers, modifying number plates, or using stickers that conceal registration details would invite strict legal action.

Furthermore, police said officers would immediately seize vehicles found with tampered or fake number plates. They also appealed to motorists to follow traffic rules and avoid violations that could lead to criminal proceedings.
