Revanth Reddy directs special traffic bureau for Hyderabad traffic management

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to establish a special bureau to strengthen Hyderabad traffic management and improve road safety across the Greater Hyderabad Metropolitan area. He issued the instructions during a high-level review meeting on traffic management.

The Chief Minister asked officials to prepare a comprehensive traffic regulation plan by considering working hours, peak traffic periods, and seasonal weather changes. He said authorities should focus more on effective traffic regulation than merely enforcing rules.

Reddy also instructed officials to develop long-term measures that would improve traffic movement as Hyderabad’s metropolitan population continues to grow. In addition, he called for coordinated planning to address increasing congestion across the city.

Hyderabad traffic management to focus on signal-free mobility

The Chief Minister suggested introducing a signal-free traffic system in Hyderabad wherever feasible. He said the proposed measures should improve road safety while ensuring smoother vehicle movement across major corridors.

Furthermore, Reddy stressed the need for continuous monitoring of traffic conditions through the proposed special bureau. He said the initiative would help officials respond quickly to congestion and strengthen overall Hyderabad traffic management as the city expands.
