Hyderabad: Malkajgiri Police conducted a Raksha Bandhan road safety programme for commuters and other road users. The initiative combined festival greetings with awareness about safe driving practices.
Traffic police tied Rakhis to commuters during the programme. Officers also urged road users to wear helmets and seat belts while travelling.
The police explained the importance of following traffic rules and maintaining lane discipline. They also encouraged motorists to drive responsibly and protect themselves and other road users.
The Raksha Bandhan road safety initiative aimed to strengthen the relationship between police and the public. Officers used the festival’s message of care and protection to promote safer behaviour on roads.
Police said safe driving represents a commitment to protecting loved ones. The awareness campaign therefore connected responsible road use with the responsibility people have towards their families.
Traffic officials also highlighted the importance of basic safety measures during daily travel. They urged commuters to follow traffic regulations and avoid risky driving practices.
Raksha Bandhan road safety message reaches commuters
The programme focused on direct interaction between police personnel and commuters. Officers used the Rakhi ceremony to communicate road safety messages in a simple and personal manner.
Helmet use remained a key part of the awareness campaign for two-wheeler riders. Police also stressed seat-belt use for people travelling in cars and other vehicles.
