Hyderabad Traffic Police review Bonalu and second Safar preparations

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted extensive field inspections across the city to review preparations for the upcoming Bonalu festivities and the second Safar procession, while senior officers issued directions to strengthen traffic management, security and coordination.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D. Joel Davis, IPS, visited the 12-acre government land at Aramghar along with other police officials. During the inspection, the team examined the site, including its existing structures and boundary limits. The Joint Commissioner directed officials to document the property through drone-based aerial imaging, coordinate with Town Planning authorities to identify boundary markers and carry out a GPS-based survey of all structures to prepare a detailed map and maintain comprehensive land records.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-III) Rahul Hegde B.K., IPS, also visited the Meer Chowk Traffic Police Station to review plans for the second Safar procession. He examined the route map, inspected the procession’s starting point and travelled along the entire route to assess arrangements. The officer instructed officials to ensure adequate bandobast, effective coordination and smooth traffic management for the peaceful conduct of the event.

Meanwhile, DCP (Traffic-II) Kajal Singh, IPS, inspected the Langar Houz X Roads, where the Golconda Bonalu procession will begin, along with the designated vehicle parking areas. She reviewed preparations for the first puja and the subsequent festival events and directed officials to prioritise the safety and convenience of devotees.

The officer also instructed police personnel to maintain close coordination, disciplined supervision and efficient traffic regulation throughout the Bonalu celebrations to ensure the events are conducted safely and without disruption.
