Revenue inspector held for taking bribe in Nalgonda’s Gurrampode mandal

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a revenue inspector in Gurrampode mandal, Nalgonda, for taking a bribe of ₹20,000.

Officials caught Mohammed Abdul Hakeem in the act at the MRO Office around 1 p.m. on February 2. He had demanded the bribe to process a complainant’s application for land record restoration.

Hakeem allegedly sought the amount to forward documents related to Survey No. 225/6, Ac.1.15 guntas. The land details had been deleted from the online 1-B Register (ROR).

ACB personnel recovered the full bribe amount from Hakeem during the trap.

Officials said Hakeem exploited his position and violated public duty for personal gain.

They took him to the Special Court for ACB and SPE cases in Hyderabad after the arrest.

The investigation is ongoing. For security reasons, ACB has withheld the complainant’s identity.
