Hyderabad: Hyderabad water supply will face disruption or low pressure in several areas for 24 hours from 10 am on 29.08.2026. HMWSSB said the interruption was linked to junction works on a major water pipeline.
The work will support GHMC’s box drain construction at Bandlaguda X Road. The junction work is required because a 1500 mm MS gravity main runs through the proposed drain alignment.
The pipeline forms part of the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project Phase-III, Ring Main-I. HMWSSB said the work was necessary to allow the drain construction to proceed without interruption.
The junction work will begin at 10 am on Saturday, 29.08.2026. It is scheduled to continue until 10 am on Sunday, 30.08.2026.
During this 24-hour period, some reservoir command areas may experience a complete or partial interruption. Meanwhile, certain locations could receive water at low pressure.
The affected areas include Shastripuram, Bandlaguda, Shamshabad, Madhuban and Durganagar. Suleman Nagar, PDP, Golden Heights, Attapur and Kismatpur may also experience disruption.
In addition, areas around 9 Number, Allabanda, Bhojagutta, Gandhamguda and Prashasan Nagar are listed among the affected locations. Parts of Jubilee Hills, Tattikhana, Gachibowli, Madhapur and Shaikpet may also face reduced supply.
Hyderabad water supply disruption affects multiple areas
HMWSSB said the interruption would affect certain areas under the identified reservoir commands. The impact could range from complete or partial supply cuts to low-pressure water.
The work involves the 1500 mm diameter MS gravity main serving Hyderabad. According to HMWSSB, the pipeline’s location within the proposed box drain alignment necessitated the junction work.
The water board requested consumers in affected areas to use water sparingly during the disruption period. The advisory covers the full 24-hour work schedule from Saturday morning to Sunday morning.
