Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police seized hash oil worth more than Rs. 3.12 crore in two separate anti-drug operations. Officers also took five alleged peddlers and two consumers into custody as part of an ongoing crackdown on narcotics.
Sharing details on social media, former Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, said the operations aimed to create a drug-free environment in the city.
In the first operation, police arrested two persons from Andhra Pradesh near Erragadda Metro Station. They also seized 23.706 litres of hash oil valued at around Rs. 2.96 crore.

Meanwhile, in the second operation, police detained three alleged drug peddlers and two consumers at Road No. 10 in Jubilee Hills. During the raid, officers seized 1.250 litres of hash oil worth about Rs. 16 lakh.
Furthermore, Sajjanar described drugs as a serious social menace that destroys the future of young people, families and careers. He urged youth to stay away from narcotics and avoid addiction or illegal means of earning money.
He also appealed to citizens to share information about drug transportation or consumption with the police. Together, he said, people can help make Hyderabad a narcotics-free city.
